[GEMPAK #CDH-409468]: Gempak synoptic and metar decoder input formats
- Subject: [GEMPAK #CDH-409468]: Gempak synoptic and metar decoder input formats
- Date: Mon, 17 Jun 2013 10:13:16 -0600
Surface data decoders use the default $GEMTBL/pack/metar.pack for the parameter
packing file. The file contains a parameter name, min and max values of the
range to decode, and lastly resolution of data. An example for pressure at
mean sea level:
PMSL 880. 1080. .1
The default station table is $GEMTBL/stns/sfstns.tbl
If you want or need to add new stations and/or packing parameters, use these
two files as templates for your custom tables, and then specify the files using
the -s and -p flags.
