[GEMPAK #OYZ-792714]: Re: Help converting GEMPAK to grb format

Hi Julie,

I'm sorry you didn't receive a reply. I can not find the ticket submitted on
Jan 8, most likely it bounced from the support box because of the size of the
attachments. It happens occasionally, so I'm glad you wrote again.

First, I would suggest using gdgrib2 to write GEMPAK grids to grib2 format
rather than grib1 with gdgrib.

http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/cgi-bin/gempak/manual/programs_index?gdgrib2

If this is your first time using gdgrib2 or GEMPAK, it would be good to follow
the second example given in the above link (transferring a grid from GEM to
grib2), but also you must have available the correct grib tables to match the
variables in the GEMPAK file you're using, so if the data set is something
uncommon we may have to work on the grib tables first.

Send me back the input you're using on GDGRIB and we'll try to construct an
input set to accomplish your goal.

As for the grid, you can upload it to our GEMPAK Ramadda Repository here (just
click on "Upload test data sets here" and you'll see the upload interface):
