Derek, Unfortunately it seems it's not possible to convert redbook > vgf > grid as the redbook files do not contain the necessary contour information that GRPHGD requires. Specifically the vgf file must contain lines grouped with text with the GROUP TYPE label set to 8, and this information doesn't exist in the redbook graphics. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, I was hoping I could offer you a solution. If your goal is to overlay convective outlook on top of grids there is still hope. Redbook graphics are georeferenced so mapping and reprojection is easy. If you explain to me your goals perhaps I can offer you a useable workaround. Best, Michael > Thanks Michael!
