Hi Neil, These topo maps can not be used in the same way with NMAP2 as they are with GARP. It's much easier to use topographic backgrounds, either as grids or gini images, with programs such as GPMAP and GDPLOT2, but it's possible with a bit of work to use the same maps in NMAP2 - it requires additions to $GEMTBL/nmap/mod_res.tbl and $GEMTBL/config/datatype.tbl, as well as a restore file added to $NMAP_RESTORE/modl/ I can provide you with a walkthrough for this if you'd like, but it isn't exactly the solution you were looking for (being able to select topo background from a gui menu). -Michael James Unidata > Can the topo backgrounds found in $NAWIPS/comet/garp/map/areas be made > available for nmap2 usage? > > -Neil > --- > Neil Smith address@hidden > Comp.
