Qing, Since your data has been converted to GEMPAK format, your options would be to either: 1) Use existing programs like SFLIST, SNLIST, GDLIST to dump the data to ascii output for your importing to matlab, or 2)Write your own programs utilizing the GEMPAK library functions to access the desired data froim your files and format it as needed on output. Starting with the existing applications mentioned above would be a starting point for routines to read the data from GEMPAK format.
