Dear Aviation Weather customer: MAJOR
CHANGES HAVE BEEN MADE TO AVIATION PRODUCT HEADERS. At 1300 UTC on 17 May 2005,
the U.S. National Weather Service began using new communication header
designations to disseminate operational aviation forecasts and warnings. This
change was required to comply with the World Meteorological Organization and
International Civil Aviation Organization standards for international air
navigation. Products issued at 1300 UTC: The following products were issued by NOAA’s
Aviation Weather Center (KKCI) after 1300 UTC using the new communication
header designations (WMO Header / AWIPS Header / FAA Header): Convective SIGMETs – CONUS WSUS31 KKCI / MKCSIGE / MKCE WST WSUS32 KKCI / MKCSIGC / MKCC WST WSUS33 KKCI / MKCSIGW / MKCW WST KKCI AIRMETs will be issued
between 1330 and 1345 UTC: WAUS41 KKCI / MKCWA1(S,T,Z) / BOS(S,T,Z) WA WAUS42 KKCI / MKCWA2(S,T,Z) / MIA(S,T,Z) WA WAUS43 KKCI / MKCWA3(S,T,Z) / CHI(S,T,Z) WA WAUS44 KKCI / MKCWA4(S,T,Z) / DFW(S,T,Z) WA WAUS45 KKCI / MKCWA5(S,T,Z) / SLC(S,T,Z) WA WAUS46 KKCI / MKCWA6(S,T,Z) / SFO(S,T,Z) WA Test Products to be issued
