Greg,

I'm assuming that /opt also is the same as /usr/local.

The GEMPAKdistribution will unpack into a directory
called GEMPAK5.7.4, whereas your NAWIPS is seemingly lowercase.
Did you define NAWIPS correctly in Gemenviron?  Did you change
the directory naming scheme?
