John, The binary release does not contain the source to build the distribution. It contains the executable environment, maps and tables necessary to run the package as is. Just set up the Gemenviron variables for your csh environment, source that, and the executable directory $NAWIPS/bin/linux will be added to your path in addition to setting the other environmental variables.
