Patrick, Yes, the apx B1 says that BVSQ(THTA) can be used for either pressure or theta coordinates. Not for ZAGL. You can use the GFUNC routines to compute N**2 on other coordinates: g/LAV(thta) * [ LDF(thta) / LDF(hght) ] Its the LDF(hght) function that is not general on other coordinates where the name of the height variable or height level changes.
