Hi Art,
We have been in contact with the folks at the WOC recently about parallel
toplevel machines that they have setup for CONDUIT distribution. They
are wanting to conduct a test of the parallel systems as soon as possible
since the location hosting the existing machines (SSMC) will have a
power outage of about half a day in mid November. Rebecca Cosgrove
sent me the following note this morning letting me know the names
of the machines that they want all sites requesting CONDUIT data
from toplevels (i.e., Unidata and Penn State) to use:

Here are the hostnames for the CONDUIT systems in Boulder and Silver Spring.
Just so I don't drop any balls... you said you'd contact PSU with the
new names, right?
ncepldm1.woc.noaa.gov (SSMC)
ncepldm4.woc.noaa.gov (BOULDER)
NB: These are the names of the LVS server front ends to the clusters
in each location. The following comment I just received explains why
the name you may currently be using works:

No they are not the names of the each server.
>>ncepldm1.woc.noaa.gov (SSMC) (3 ldm servers in the back)
>>ncepldm4.woc.noaa.gov (BOULDER) (3 ldm severs in the back)
these are the hostnames of the ip address on the LVS directors.
ncepldm.woc.noaa.gov has the same IP as ncepldm1.woc.noaa.gov we would
like you to switch the hostname you use to connect with us.
WOC has a numbering system, w1 sites are SSMC / w2 ITC / w3 Norman /
w4 boulder / w5 SRH / w6 Seattle, etc.
So, please do the following:
- use 'notifyme' to verify that you are ALLOWed to request data from
each WOC machine listed above
- change your ~ldm/etc/ldmd.conf REQUEST line for CONDUIT from the SSMC
machine to ncepldm1.woc.noaa.gov
- add a redundant CONDUIT feed to the Boulder machine, ncepldm4.woc.noaa.gov
- stop and restart your LDM
Thanks in advance for doing this quickly!
Cheers,
Tom
