Hi there, > Is it possible to add the available free ECMWF model data to the data stream > for PC version > of AWIPS CAVE? > > I see they have the data available for use at their data website here: Open > data | ECMWF > <https://www.ecmwf.int/en/forecasts/datasets/open-data> Currently, ECMWF data is not available through an existing LDM feed, meaning we would have to create some sort of data scraping process in order to ingest it into our IDD. From there, the dataset unfortunately uses some Grib parameters in a different way than are common for other model datasets, so if we were to ingest it into our EDEX we would further have to alter the data as to not clobber existing models. We have a coworker looking into the licensing and data access currently, but I can't guarantee it's something we'll add into our public EDEX. If you're running your own EDEX though, we already have an AWIPS Tips blog post detailing how to add it into your EDEX: https://www.unidata.ucar.edu/blogs/news/entry/awips-tips-adding-ecmwf-data Thanks. --Shay Carter She/Her/Hers AWIPS Software Engineer NSF Unidata If you're interested, please feel free to fill out a survey about the support you receive: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeDIkdk8qUMgq8ZdM4jhP-ubJPUOr-mJMQgxInwoAWoV5QcOw/viewform Ticket Details =================== Ticket ID: LAR-593445 Department: Support AWIPS Priority: High Status: Open =================== NOTE: All email exchanges with NSF Unidata User Support are recorded in the Unidata inquiry tracking system and then made publicly available through the web.
