If you are running v18 on a Windows machine, this issue can be resolved by disabling IPv6: http://unidata.github.io/awips2/appendix/common-problems/#windows-cave-start-up-error Alternatively, if you download our beta v20 CAVE installer, this should no longer be an issue, and you do not need to disable IPv6 on your machine: http://unidata.github.io/awips2/install/install-cave-beta-v20/#windows Let me know if this helps?
