Hi there, > Operating System: Windows > > Description of problem: I install the latest AWIPS/Cave following the step by > step instruction. > As part of the installation, python 3.7 is install. I was wondering if > updating my python > version to 3.8 or newer, would that negatively impact AWIPS/Cave? This is not something we've attempted before, so I can't say definitively one way or another. If there is a relatively easy way to roll back to Python 3.7 if it does break CAVE, then I'd say go for it. But if that is not an easy process, I might not risk it if I were you? I want to say I'm mostly certain it should be okay (on Python 3.8), but again, we've never tested that so I don't want to give you false information. If you do update to 3.8, could you please let us know how it goes? Sorry I don't have more information for you.
