Okay, couple more questions. Is this a physical machine or virtual? Do you have SELinux enabled? Can you try changing the EXT_ADDR in the /awips2/edex/bin/setup.env to localhost and then stop and start EDEX (don't use restart in this case). Then tail/grep the request log for "operational" tail -f /awips2/edex/logs/edex-request*09.log | grep operational Once you see operational, then try to connect CAVE.
