Hi there, > I am looking to install AWIPS onto a computer. We have linux computers and are > currently using Dell OptiPlex 7450 AIO Series. What operating system are the Linux machines running? We only support AWIPS on RHEL OS -- Redhat or CentOS Linux. If it is one of those two, please go ahead and follow our installation instructions for CAVE (AWIPS' client-side application) found here: https://unidata.github.io/awips2/install/install-cave/ That page also has some general requirements that are recommended. The most important of those is the graphics card. AWIPS is only guaranteed to work with NVIDIA graphics cards. It is still possible it will work (at least partially) with other graphics cards, but please know that is a limitation of the software. That manual also has all kinds of other documentation about Unidata's CAVE. Please let me know if you have any other questions and good luck! --Shay Carter She/Her/Hers AWIPS Software Engineer UCAR - Unidata If you're interested, please feel free to fill out a survey about the support you receive: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeDIkdk8qUMgq8ZdM4jhP-ubJPUOr-mJMQgxInwoAWoV5QcOw/viewform Ticket Details =================== Ticket ID: FEK-188473 Department: Support AWIPS Priority: Normal Status: Open =================== NOTE: All email exchanges with Unidata User Support are recorded in the Unidata inquiry tracking system and then made publicly available through the web.
