You can find installation instructions here: http://unidata.github.io/awips2/install/install-cave/#windows I would probably suggest trying to complete the "Direct Windows Install" method if you have administrative privileges on your computer. In that webpage if you use the navigation panel on the left hand side you should also find more information about CAVE and some of the data sets found in it. Please let me know if this helps.
