Hi Jim, I asked around a little to some of my coworkers and this is what I came up with for a recommendation for a Linux machine: "I'd say 16GB memory, 2GB NVIDIA graphics, and SSD/NVMe storage. One can get a lot more in a desktop/server system for much less than the cost of the same in a laptop configuration." Hope that's useful.
