The file should be a .sh file? Which can be downloaded here: http://unidata.github.io/awips2/install/install-cave/ Once you have that downloaded you need to open a terminal window. Go to your downloads directory by typing: cd Downloads (or you might possibly have to specify the home directory first: cd ~[username]/Downloads). Once you've done that, then type: chmod 755 awips_install.sh and then: sudo ./awips_install.sh --cave After that's finished you should be able to find CAVE in the application menu, or just type cave on the command line and it should also run it.
