The end-user needs to configure their installation themselves. The WFOs will create/use a localization specific to their WFO; the National Centers will perform a different configuration that has in the past been referred to as the national localization. In either case, there is quite a bit of configuration that needs to be done. FYI: the contractor that has been/is developing AWIPS-II has been performing all installations at WFOs. This approach was adopted at some point in the early deployment test phase due to the complexity of doing the installations and configurations. Please remember that the timetable for Unidata release of AWIPS-II is controlled by NOAA, not by Unidata...
