Greetings! It depends on which viewer you are trying to access. Godiva2 is a javascript based, in browser visualization tool that should work with any browser released in the past 5 years or so. If you are trying to use the "NetCDF-Java ToolsUI (webstart)" or "Integrated Data Viewer (IDV) (webstart)", you will need to have Oracle Java 8 installed on the system. Those links will download a .jnlp file, which will need to be executed using the javaws.exe program that comes with Oracle Java 8. Note that Webstart has been deprecated as of Java 9, and and is no longer available as of Java 11. As such, future version of the THREDDS Data server will no longer list webstart based viewers. If you do want to use the IDV to view the datasets, you can download and install the IDV application locally: https://www.unidata.ucar.edu/downloads/idv/index.jsp Cheers, Sean > Hello, > > One of my Bureau of Water staff at SC DHEC is trying to access this URL > and use the viewer at the bottom of the page with no luck. > > http://thredds-jetstream.unidata.ucar.edu/thredds/catalog/grib/NCEP/RTMA/CONUS_2p5km/catalog.html?dataset=grib/NCEP/RTMA/CONUS_2p5km/TP > > What web browser do you recommend, and what Java version is required to > use the site viewers? > > We are on Win 10 here locally.
