Hi again Jim,

Big OOPS! I just found a typo in the copy of 'makefile' that I included in
my previous email, and the typo is fatal.

I have attached yet another version of 'makefile' to this email for
you to use in the same way as I outlined in the previous email:

<all as 'mcidas'>
cd ~mcidas/mcidas2018/src
mv makefile makefile.orig <- only for the original version of 'makefile'

-- download the attached 'makefile' to the ~mcidas/mcidas2018/src directory
on your Ubuntu v18 machine

make clobber
make mcx

If the small changes that I made work, your build should proceed to the end,
and you would then run:

make install.mcxall

Please let me know if the new makefile makes a difference.

Cheers,

Tom
