[McIDAS #SMX-272962]: mcidas question

Hi Sepideh,

I tried to send the response below from Jerez, Spain, but it did not get
relayed to you for some reason.  I apologize for the delay!

As you will see below, I found and fixed the problems I saw in your
ADDE dataset definitions on tormenta.

OK, tormenta.mit.edu does resolve to an IP address.

I logged onto your account and corrected the problems I found:

1) for the TEST/GOES7 ADDE dataset definition, you had specified the
   location of the files as being in /sepide/mcidas/ir.  They are
   actually in /home/sepide/mcidas/ir.

   You had also incorrectly specified the file name regular expression
   as goes7.1990.001.*.  It should have been (and now is) goes07.1990.001.*

2) when I logged on, I saw that the TEST/IR2 dataset was (and still is)
   defined correctly.

3) the TEST/AREA ADDE dataset regular expression was incorrectly defined
   to be /home/sepide/mcidas/ir/AREA*.  There are no files named AREA*
   in /home/sepide/mcidas/ir.  Given this, I deleted this dataset definition.

After my small changes, access to the images is now available by either
the TEST/GOES7 or TEST2/IR2 datasets:

Now, the question is what you want to do with these images.  Since you
are unfamiliar with McIDAS (and it is a BIG application that can do
many, many things), it may be quickest for you to describe your objective(s)
so I can help you create the processing you need to do.
