I am well, thank you. How are you? >I worked a lot on MODIS bowtie correction, and finally I got results. With >some help from IDL and Liam Gumley. This is excellent news! >My question now: I receive MODIS data via McIDAS, from >NANUK.EOSDIS.NASA.GOV, but as far as I looked there are not all the MODIS >data over Romania made available via this ADDE server. Is there any >possibily to make all this data (I mean over Romania) available via McIDAS? The question is if there are any other installations that have full global MODIS data and make it available by ADDE. I know that SSEC has a MODIS receiver, but I don't know if they are getting the MODIS data from other downlink sites, and I further don't know if they would then make the data available by ADDE. One of the problems I have noticed with MODIS data is that sites that downlink it typically want to charge for it. >And the second one: we still don't have any answer from the NOAA contact >you've send me. Can you help us? I will be flying to Madison, Wisconsin to attend the McIDAS Users Group (MUG) tomorrow. I see from an email that I received that Brian Hughes (the person that gave me the contact information to request access to SATEPS ADDE servers) will also be at the meeting. I will ask Brian if he can help out with your access to the ADDE servers. I must tell you that I did send off an email asking if you (NAM) could get access to the SATEPS servers, but I, like you, did not receive any reply. Perhaps talking to Brian in persion will help get this moving. Also, while I am at the MUG meeting I will ask if anyone knows of ADDE servers that might contain good MODIS coverage of Romania. I believe that Spain ingests MODIS data and that it runs ADDE servers for other types of satellite data (e.g., MSG), so it may be possible that they could make the data available. I want to warn you, however, that it is next to impossible to get access to their MSG ADDE server(s), so this request may go nowhere. Cheers, Tom -- NOTE: All email exchanges with Unidata User Support are recorded in the Unidata inquiry tracking system and then made publicly available through the web. If you do not want to have your interactions made available in this way, you must let us know in each email you send to us. >From address@hidden Tue Oct 25 23:28:07 2005 Hi Tom! Thank you very much for your help. So, I'll be waiting for you to come back from the MUG meeting. Regarding the MSG data, received via Spanish ADDE, no problem because we have a MSG receiver, so we don't need this data. My question was only about MODIS data. Regards, Oana
