In addition, one can learn about the AREA file header from the McIDAS Programmers Reference Manual: http://www.ssec.wisc.edu/mug/prog_man/prog_man.html Please NOTE: If you are not a member of the SSEC McIDAS Users Group, you are not entitled to send them questions on McIDAS-related issues.
