John,

I am trying to help Elen get setup so she can run McIDAS from her own
account, but McIDAS commands can't be run since her account is not
allowed to look at anything in ~mcidas.

The ~mcidas account needs to have at least world readable permission
(and perhaps have execute permissions, although this should be taken
care of by the permissions on ~mcidas/bin). The reason for this is that
all users that want to run must be able to execute McIDAS programs in
~mcidas/bin, and these users also need to be able to read files in
~mcidas/data and ~mcidas/help.

Any help you can provide on this would be greatly appreciated.

Tom
