Hi Gilbert,

I just built the ldm-mcidas-2012 decoders on vm-weather3.admin.niu.edu
and copied the new, 64-bit decoders to the ~ldm/decoders directory.
I also cleaned up the ldm-mcidas layout I found:
- created the ~/ldm-mcidas directory
- moved the subdirectories under ~ldm/decoders/ldm-mcidas to
~ldm/ldm-mcidas
- created a runtime link to point to the new ldm-mcidas 2012
subdirectory structure in ~ldm/ldm-mcidas
- copied ~ldm/ldm-mcidas/bin/* to ~ldm/decoders
- deleted _really_ old ldm-mcidas decoders that have not been
used for years from the ~ldm/decoders directory (e.g., gunrv2,
lwfile, etc.)
As I am writing this note I see UNIWISC (aka MCIDAS) imagery being
decoded by the newly built 'pnga2area' decoder and NIMAGE imagery
being decoded by the newly built 'pngg2gini' decoder.
I note that vm-weather3 is failing in its REQUEST for lightning
data from the UAlbany machine, striker2.atmos.albany.edu. You
need to send a note to the UAlbany LDM/IDD administrator asking
them to update their ALLOW for vm-weather3.
Cheers,
Tom
