Gilbert, > Go ahead and execute that on weather2.admin.niu.edu Login is ldm; password > is (temporarily) xxx. Good news. The recent upgrade of the O/S on weather2 has, apparently, fixed this problem. We (Tom & I) were able to successfully restart the LDM system as the LDM user. Tom's Fedora 8 system is exhibiting a similar problem, but his is version 2.6.24.4-50 rather than 2.6.24.4-64. I suspect, therefore, a bug in the O/S which is fixed in the latest release. What Linux mirror are you using? The use of file "/etc/rc.local" for starting the LDM at boot-time is unconventional. May we convert it to a more conventional form using run-time states, /etc/init.d/, and /etc/rc{3,4,5}.d/? > ******************************************************************************* > Gilbert Sebenste ******** > (My opinions only!) ****** > Staff Meteorologist, Northern Illinois University **** > E-mail: address@hidden *** > web: http://weather.admin.niu.edu ** > ******************************************************************************* Regards, Steve Emmerson Ticket Details =================== Ticket ID: OVK-233439 Department: Support LDM Priority: Normal Status: On Hold
