Jami and Bill, Do you keep a running log of the activity/load on the system so we know if this is typical? This looks pretty much what we'd expect for a relay system... As I mentioned before, you're just fine CPU wise. As the data volumes/rates grow, you'll want to keep that data in the queue (and in memory). All of our relay systems have 16GB of memory (8-12GB queue) and we usually spend more on the memory than we do on the system itself. I'd look to buy a system that can hold at least 16GB of memory, and populate as much of it as you can as compared to upgrading CPU's to the fastest quad-core. Let me know if this helps or you have other questions. mike > Jami > > Here it the top info from our active ldmradar > > > > 17:13:50 up 3 days, 21:17, 1 user, load average: 3.16, 2.91, 1.27 > 101 processes: 100 sleeping, 1 running, 0 zombie, 0 stopped > CPU0 states: 0.2% user 0.2% system 0.0% nice 0.0% iowait 99.1% idle > CPU1 states: 0.2% user 0.3% system 0.0% nice 0.0% iowait 99.0% idle > CPU2 states: 1.0% user 3.3% system 0.0% nice 0.0% iowait 95.2% idle > CPU3 states: 0.4% user 3.1% system 0.0% nice 0.0% iowait 96.0% idle > Mem: 4003452k av, 2740976k used, 1262476k free, 0k shrd, 209220k buff > 2397204k actv, 33908k in_d, 660k in_c > Swap: 2040212k av, 0k used, 2040212k free 2204908k cached > > Bill > > -- > William Gery - KA2FNK > Office 816-268-3152 > Cell 816-564-7895 > Regional Systems Manager > National Weather Service > Central Region Headquarters > 7220 NW 101st Terrace > Kansas City, MO 64153-2371 > > Ticket Details =================== Ticket ID: GTN-702792 Department: Support LDM Priority: High Status: Closed
