hupsyslog(1) using killall(1) under SUSE (was: LDM-6.4.1 instalation)

What is the output of the command

    ls -l /etc/*syslog* /var/run/*syslog*

If the above shows that one file exists, then 1) what does it contain; and
2) what is the current output of the command

    ps -ef | grep syslog
