Hi Rodney, > To: "'address@hidden'" <address@hidden> > From: "Jacques, Rodney" <address@hidden> > Subject: LDM problem: Denying connection from localhost.localdomain > Organization: US NAVY/NAVPACMETOCCEN > Keywords: 200405121919.i4CJJRtK023189 The above message contained the following: > I have attached a log file from LDM > <<ldmd.log.2>> > We are having a problem with a denied connection from the > localhost.localdomain. I have checked the hosts and hosts.allow files to > ensure that the localhost is allowed. I do not know what to do. > > Could you be of assistance? [First off, you really should be using version 6.0.14 of the LDM. There have been some bug-fixes since version 6.0.10.] I must admit, I haven't seen this problem before. Apparently, the name of the host that's trying to connect to your LDM is "localhost.localdomain", which is unusual. The LDM itself is denying the connection. I suggest adding an ALLOW entry for "localhost.localdomain" in the LDM configuration-file, e.g., ALLOW ANY ^localhost\.localdomain$ Let me know if this works. > Rodney Jacques > > Meteorologist > Forecast Systems & Applications > NAVPACMETOCCEN San Diego > Bldg 14, Saufley Rd. > NASNI San Diego, CA 92135 > address@hidden > (W) 619-545-6043 > (F) 619-545-0291 > > > May 12 17:15:54 granite rpc.ldmd[1431]: Starting Up (version: 6.0.10; = > built: Apr 30 2003 16:46:37) =0A= > May 12 17:15:54 granite pqexpire[1433]: Starting Up =0A= > May 12 17:15:54 granite pqact[1434]: Starting Up =0A= > May 12 17:15:54 granite galileo[1435]: Starting Up(6.0.10): = > galileo.wrh.noaa.gov: TS_ZERO TS_ENDT {{FSL2, ".*"}} =0A= > May 12 17:15:54 granite galileo[1435]: Desired product class: = > 20040512171446.365 TS_ENDT {{FSL2, ".*"}} =0A= > May 12 17:15:54 granite eldm4[1436]: Starting Up(6.0.10): = > eldm4.fsl.noaa.gov: TS_ZERO TS_ENDT {{FSL3|FSL2|PCWS, = > "^FSL\.CompressedNetCDF\.MADIS\.(maritime|metar|sao|mesonet1)"}} =0A= > May 12 17:15:54 granite eldm4[1436]: Desired product class: = > 20040512171446.365 TS_ENDT {{FSL3|FSL2|PCWS, = > "^FSL\.CompressedNetCDF\.MADIS\.(maritime|metar|sao|mesonet1)"}} =0A= > May 12 17:15:54 granite galileo[1437]: Starting Up(6.0.10): = > galileo.wrh.noaa.gov: TS_ZERO TS_ENDT {{FSL2, ".*enp.*"}} =0A= > May 12 17:15:54 granite galileo[1437]: Desired product class: = > 20040512161554.901 TS_ENDT {{FSL2, ".*enp.*"}} =0A= > May 12 17:15:55 granite galileo[1435]: Connecting to upstream LDM using = > protocol version 6... =0A= > May 12 17:15:55 granite galileo[1437]: Connecting to upstream LDM using = > protocol version 6... =0A= > May 12 17:15:55 granite eldm4[1436]: Connecting to upstream LDM using = > protocol version 6... =0A= > May 12 17:15:55 granite galileo[1435]: Upstream LDM is willing to feed = > =0A= > May 12 17:15:55 granite galileo[1437]: Upstream LDM is willing to feed = > =0A= > May 12 17:15:56 granite eldm4[1436]: Upstream LDM is willing to feed = > =0A= > May 12 17:16:50 granite feedme[1443]: Starting Up: localhost: = > 20040512171650.294 TS_ENDT {{ANY, ".*"}} =0A= > May 12 17:16:50 granite rpc.ldmd[1431]: Denying connection from = > localhost.localdomain =0A= > May 12 17:16:50 granite feedme[1443]: FEEDME(localhost): 7: Access = > denied by remote server =0A= > May 12 17:17:15 granite rpc.ldmd[1431]: Denying connection from = > localhost.localdomain =0A= > May 12 17:17:15 granite feedme[1443]: FEEDME(localhost): 7: Access = > denied by remote server =0A= > May 12 17:17:36 granite feedme[1005]: exiting =0A= > May 12 17:17:36 granite feedme[1443]: exiting =0A= Regards, Steve Emmerson > NOTE: All email exchanges with Unidata User Support are recorded in the > Unidata inquiry tracking system and then made publically available > through the web.
