The pqbinstats(1) utility creates files in the data/ directory that are used by the rtstats(1) utility to initialize itself if they are available (strictly speaking, the files are not necessary, they merely improve the statistics reporting after an LDM restart). If you use pqbinstats(1), then you should have an "ldmadmin dostats" entry in your crontab(1) file to prevent the pqbinstats(1) output files from increasing in number without bound.
