20030819: ldm-6.0.14 compiler errors: missing ssize_t definition

Sometimes these things depend on what other header-files have been
included and in what order.  They shouldn't -- but they sometimes do.

I saw it.  I figure that solving the stdio.h problem (which seems
identical) will also solve the signal.h problem.

We're trying to get everyone using LDM 6 because its performance is so
much greater that it, effectively, eliminates the loss-of-data problems
we've seen with LDM 5.

We'd be happy to do the installation and tune-up for you.  We might even
diagnose the compiler problem so that it can't bite you later.
