This sounds good. >It will be performed on the 8-cpu computer. >As you mentioned, we are planning to request just the basic data and not the >extended datasets (NIMAGE, CONDUIT, etc). OK. So, the data volumes you will be requesting will not be large. >By the way, I do not remember seeing new information related to access >to the Unidata-Wisconsin historical datasets (1990-near present). I know >that a new computer was being searched by SSEC last summer/fall. >In case is already in operation, how can we get specific information to >request and retrieve data? Hmm... I thought that I sent you a note, but I don't see it in the tracking system so I must have not; sorry. The Unidata-Wisconsin backup machine is: unidata2.ssec.wisc.edu The user name and password are the same as what they were for the old Unidata-Wisconsin backup machine: user: XXXXXX pass: XXXXXX The directory strucures are the same: urequest neartime but the number of days of data that are being kept online are a lot more than they used to be: there are currently data going back to last August. FYI, The length of the backup record on unidata2 may be shortened in the future. Cheers, Tom
