Hi Jim,

I think you're on to something. Try changing the spaces to tabs in the local0.debug entry that you added to syslog.conf.  (Take a look at the nonprinting characters in the other entries.  You'll see that the two fields are separated by tabs, not spaces.)

Then stop the ldm (if it's running) and then restart it.  Then check ldmd.log again.  Hopefully it will tell you something.
