This is a status report about the state of the LDM install and the general
status of halo.  The LDM is installed and receiving data. Here's what was
done:

- crontab configurated for the purge of LDM files, sending LDM statistics,
etc
- .cshrc and .login files configured so vi, more, etc will work
- pqact.conf file configured, directory paths were incorrect
- etc/scour.conf file configured, purges LDM old files
- LDM queue rebuilt

LDM problems still occurring:

- ldmadmin stop takes a long time because of network, possible OS problems
- reports/models missing because of network bandwidth not large enough to
receive all the data requested

Our system admin checked halo, here's what he said:

- network is flaky, traceroute shows multiple interfaces
- no patches install on OS, machine is prime candidate for breakin

Recommendations:

- reduce the amount of data requested to halo
- install OS patches ASAP
- contact your system admin or your ISP about the network problems
