Now with the NOAAport feed, DDPLUS has made another come back. Internal to the LDM DDS|PPS == DDPLUS has always been there as well as DDS and PPS. I believe the separation occurred so sites could reduce the amount of data on a feedtype. > Our old ldmd.conf request entry read: > > request DDPLUS|IDS|HRS ".*" pluto.met.fsu.edu # Florida State > request MCIDAS ".*" 128.186.5.177 # pluto.met.fsu.edu > request NLDN ".*" striker.atmos.albany.edu # SUNY Albany > > Since reading about the change it recognized feed types, I changed the > DDPLUS line to read: > > request DDS|PPS|IDS|HRS ".*" pluto.met.fsu.edu # Florida State > > But when I stopped and then started the ldm again, the relevant section > of ldmd.log reads: > > May 26 07:05:49 5Q:coriolis 128.186.5.177[17612]: run_requester: Starting Up: > 12 > 8.186.5.177 > May 26 07:05:49 5Q:coriolis striker[17613]: run_requester: Starting Up: > striker. > atmos.albany.edu > May 26 07:05:50 5Q:coriolis pluto[17609]: run_requester: 19990526070505.380 > TS_E > NDT {{IDS|HDS|DDPLUS, ".*"}} > May 26 07:05:50 5Q:coriolis udp.ldmd[17614]: Starting Up > May 26 07:05:51 5Q:coriolis pluto[17609]: FEEDME(pluto.met.fsu.edu): OK > > This seems to suggest that the feed type requested from pluto is still > DDPLUS. Why wouldn't it read {{IDS|HDS|PPS|DDS, ".*"? I've done a > more again on the only ldmd.conf in the etc dir. and it does indeed > show the DDS|PPS change. What gives? > Internal to the LDM it tries to condense the DDS|PPS to DDPLUS. There are other internal LDM aliases, ie DDPLUS|IDS|HRS|MCIDAS == UNIDATA. I wouldn't worry about it because the NOAAport feedtypes will be coming out soon and DDPLUS|IDS|HRS will be deprecated.
