Well, I gave yours a try and it works (logs) OK after all. So, to sum
up,
you can build it under the gnu C compiler but it won't log; you can't
get it to build using the older Sun 4.0 C compiler; and finally, using
4.2 Sun compiler it works OK. Thanks for the help Robb.
