[ldmMcidas #HVN-765439]: netcdf tmp files

I just tried to SSH to climate.cod.edu and weather.cod.edu as the
user 'ldm', and I can't get in... no response to the ssh attempt; it
looks like I'm being blocked by a firewall.  Can you take a look?
