Re: (#JGS-2607132) [SPAM] Re: ISSUES WITH LOADING BUNDLES ON IDV

Hi Heidi,

In the dashboard window, there are four tabs and the screen is the last tab "Displays". Please select the "Data Chooser" tab and you should
be the same as the last screenshot I sent you.

Dear Sir,

Based on your instructions regarding assessing the bundles through the catalog, I reviewed my dashboard and found that it is slightly different from yours. It might be the recent version. You can please look at that by comparing the attached screenshot with yours to see how you can help out.

The IDV works for all my colleagues with even MacBook, but unfortunately, it doesn’t for me.

I hope you are patient with me and help me through this journey.

Thank you.

Sincerely,

Heidi.

Hi Heidi,

Could you try to load the bundle through catalog? We have those bundles available in our catalog (attached image).

If it is still not working for you, please specify which bundle.

Thanks,

Yuan

Subject: ISSUES WITH LOADING BUNDLES ON IDV

Dear Sir/ Madam,

I’m Heidi Nsiah from George Mason University. I happen to take a course that requires the use of IDV.

I have successfully run the software on my macOS version 14.4.1 by using the link below.

Macintosh OSX  idv_6_3_macos_installer.dmg (installer)                                                                                   MD5

Requires Mac OS X 10.7 or later. See the System Requirements section of the User's Guide for more information.

However, I’m unable to load bundles on the AMS LMT Lab Manual, it tries to load and then stops running eventually.

I’d be grateful if you could help troubleshoot this problem.

You might also want to know the steps I took to download the software and install the plugins to help solve my problem.

  1. Go to https://www.unidata.ucar.edu
  2. Click on “Software”
  3.  Click on the IDV icon
  4. Click on “Download” in the left panel
  5.  Click on “Current Release” of the software
  6. Choose the appropriate version for your operating system and download
  7.  Follow the prompts to install the IDV
  8. Launch the IDV
  9. Installing Plugins > Find the menu item Tools > Plugin Manager in the menu bar.
  10. Go ahead to install the necessary plugins for the course.
    1. Color Tables: Install any or all the color tables offered
    2. Maps: Consider US Highways and Roads and US Rivers & Lakes
    3. Bug Fixes: Install the Spurious Map Lines Fix Plugin.
    4. The Mapes IDV collection (under Customized IDV)

Thank you

Sincerely,

Heidi Nsiah.
