I am not exactly sure what you mean by normal but you can go to the
Projections-->Predefined menu and make a selection, say "CONUS" which may be
what you are used to.

The best here may be to provide us with an example image of what you are seeing
(View-->Capture-->Image, and send the image as an attachment). There are a few
different scenarios that can explain what you are observing. These straight
lines can be an artifact of the Barnes Objective Analysis. You can try
experimenting with the "Gridded Parameters" as described here:
