Hi Alan. The problem is that those field names are not standard (in the IDV) so you will have to alias them to have the IDV recognize them. To alias a variable, right-click on the field, and choose an alias. Once you have created an alias for all your fields, reload the data by right-clicking on the data source (in the very left part of the field selector panel). Now under the derived fields, you should see the sounding data. -Julien > Full Name: Alan Bol > Email Address: address@hidden > Organization: COMET > Package Version: 2.9u2 build date:2010-10-04 19:14 UTC > Operating System: Windows 7 > Hardware: Java: home: C:\Program Files (x86)\IDV_2.9u2\jre version: 1.6.0_20 > j3d:1.5.2 fcs (build4) > Description of problem: I'm trying to gin up a skew-t plot from monthly means > in the NCEP reanalysis. > Looking though the user guide etc., there should be a way to do this listed > under Field Selector/Fields/3d grid/Derived, but no sounding option is > listed.
