[IDV #FYK-285961]: freeze at the splash screen

Bonjour Alain,

Try moving this file 

mv ~/.unidata/idv/DefaultIdv/main.xml  ~/.unidata/idv/DefaultIdv/main.xml.old

Then try starting the IDV again.

Let us know if this solves the problem.
