[IDV #TDH-801441]: Spiky isosurfaces

Try setting the rendering threads to 1 (in the User Preferences under 
Formats&Data tab) and see if the problem disappears in 2.7.   If so, let me 
know.  It could be that the changes I made to the Gridded*Set classes that were 
not thread safe fixed this problem.
