Is there a way to formulate contours and/or color-filled > contours based upon a certain parameter from a METAR plot and have the > IDV display the contours? When you load in the METARs, you should get a Gridded Fields category in the Field Selector. Expand that and find the parameter that you want to contour. Select the parameter, and the type of display. You can control the analysis through the Grid Parameters tab in the Data Subset section of the Field Selector. I find for a first pass, using the automatic calculation works best. For example, if I wanted to observe contours of dewpoints from a pre-specified METAR plot, could I do this in the IDV and if so, how could I do this? Select the Gridded Fields->TD field.
