Hi Steve- I've moved this to support IDV because I'm going to be travelling a bunch over the next few weeks. Your best bet is to send questions there (if you can't get answers from Tom W. ;-)) > Hey Don - we're back to using IDV to teach radar/satellite meteorology. Glad to hear it. > We'd like to overlay IPV (isentropic potential vorticy) over a water > vapor image. Do you know if there is a bundle to easily calculate IPV? For grids from our servers, there should be an IPV entry under the 3D grids->Derived section of the fields. This is calculated from the temperature and the derived absolute vorticity fields in the grid. If you are using other gridded data, you could create a formula that would be: DerivedGridFactory.createIPV(T,absvor) and pick the T and absvor fields when you execute the formula. > Steve > P.S. Some nice enhancements on this new version. Thanks. There's more to come in the next release!
