Hi David,
I talked with John over lunch. It turns out the IDV does not pick up
the station_id field. So, the problems that John pointed out in your
file are not the cause of our not getting the station ids.

We'll get a fix for this but in the meantime the current version 
works - it uses the lat/lon of each ob to figure out
what to show in a time series.
