>From: "Daniel S Berkowitz" <address@hidden> >Organization: ROC >Keywords: 200410181820.i9IIK8UE018146 IDV Level III Hi Dan- > >I have obtained Archive Level III data from NCDC and was told that I >could use IDV to see the radar products. So far, I have not figured out >how this should be done. The data files I obtained are from an FTP >server and are in the form 7000KJAX20040924.tar.Z from which I want to >examine Storm Total Precipitation (STP) products (among others). A >sample radar product is listed by WinZip as >Kjax_sdus52_ntpjax_200409241500 for the STP from 1500Z on 09/24. (STP >is a graphic product.) Could you provide some simple instructions for >viewing these products? If such instructions are already published at a >Unidata Web site, please give me the URL and the location within the >relevant document. Unfortunately, the IDV cannot read raw Level III radar data, only Level II. The only way we can read Level III is through an ADDE server, not from local files.
