We are adding units to our Vis5D files based on what was on the web page.
Good. That should fix the problems with the derived quantities.

What do you use for what we call category variables that have no units such
as:  light, moderate, or severe turbulence?

I would suggest that, since they are unit-less, you leave their units as null. The IDV can still
make displays from the data.
