Hi again Jim,
The McIDAS-X v2019a files are now available for download:
machine: ftp.unidata..ucar.edu
user: anonymous
pass: your_email_address
directory: pub/mcidas/v2019a
files: mcunpack
mcinet2019.sh
mcidasx2019.tar.gz
Download these to the HOME directory of the user 'mcidas' (~mcidas)
after renaming the previous version of 'mcunpack' to, for instance,
'mcunpack.2009'.
After the download, you will likely need to make the new 'mcunpack'
script executable:
chmod +x mcunpack
Again, the environment variable McINST_ROOT must be defined before
'mcunpack' will run. The standard definition of McINST_ROOT is
the HOME directory of the user 'mcidas':
export McINST_ROOT=`echo ~mcidas`
After these three steps have been completed, you should be able
to unpack the new distribution; CD to the ~mcidas/mcidas2019/src
directory; run 'make' (or the other variants that I noted in
my previous email.
Please let me know as soon as you have FTPed the files so I can
remove them from our anonymous FTP server!
Cheers,
Tom
