Hi Yixin, re: > I restart sshd. Should be ok now. Thanks. OK, thanks. I am now able to SSH to taku as 'ldm'. I am not, however, able to 'sudo' to 'root' as 'ldm' since I do not know 'ldm's password. I need 'sudo' capability to re-install the LDM. I tried using the 'ldm' password from mistral, but it didn't work. I wiped out the LDM build that I found on taku because the LDM distribution, ldm-6.13.6.tar.gz, was not unpacked in the right way. The way that newer versions of the LDM get unpacked is: gunzip -c ldm-6.13.6.tar.gz | pax -r '-s:/:/src/:' Running 'gunzip' output through 'pax' creates the needed ~ldm/ldm-6.13.6/src directory structure. Simply unpacking it does not create the needed 'src' subdirectory, and everything from that point on is one directory too high in the directory hierarchy, and this was evidently the cause of the LDM trying to create a lock file in /usr/local instead of /usr/local/ldm.
